The Excitement Begins Since 2000, we have hosted a charity golf tournament to raise funds for various charities that our employees nominate and select. The proceeds are awarded during the holiday season. Many of our employees help with hosting the tournament and many more participate as players. Most of our sponsorships come from our many generous business vendors, associates and vehicle manufacturers.
The year 2008 was one of our most
successful events. We had 276 golf participants and the tournament raised
over $60,000 in proceeds. Last year the
recipients included: Norcross Co-Op Ministries Greg Ellis Center, Calvary
Children’s Home, Our House, Babies Can’t Wait, Jesse’s House, Frank Ski
Kids, Parkwood Farms, Kare for Kids, Children’s Restoration Network, Boys and
Girls Club of America, Georgia Center for Children’s Advocacy, and the Aflac
Cancer Center
It is pleasing to see so many of our partners participate in this charity event that brings us together for food, fun and golf, and more importantly, to raise funds so we can reach out to those in need in our community at a special time of the year.
Jim Ellis learned from an early age about earning rewards through hard work, a lesson that still shapes his life and now spreads benefits far beyond his family. Charity support from the lifelong Georgia resident improves the lives of at-risk youths, homeless families and individuals, neighbors needing emergency assistance and adults with developmental disabilities.
